you may have also noticed – that if you are logged in, and you still have this open in a browser, and are looking at another tab/window, the title of this page changes when a new competition/message is posted

Closing Date Issue…

Hi folks, I’m not sure how we’re going to deal with the closing date issue.. as there’s going to be a serious amount of competitions very very quickly, 110 in 3 days is darned good going (thanks all) so – it’s going to be a shit load of tags… but..

we need to be accurate with our closing date and the FORMAT of it.
so..

from now on……

The closing date – NEEDS TO BE IN THE SAME FORMAT AS EVERYONE ELSE.
so – put in DD-MM-YY so the end of this month will be : 30-06-09

it MUST be in the format DD-MM-YY
ie – NOT : 30/06/09
NOT 30/06
NOT 30/6
but 30-06-09

this will help ENORMOUSLY WHEN WE ARE EDITING and removing old competitions..

TIP (more)
One thing as well – nearly forgot – you may see a post that you yourself has posted previously, but it’s been edited – this will be me just adding our link, just so that we can “monetise” the site.. As of course nothing grows on trees nowadays, and this test looks as though it’s going to become a reality on www.UKwins.info
and I’ll revert this site to our forum, and I’ll run the main site as well…

I wonder if you could send me any feedback, it would be appreciated, and I’ll try to “please” everyone!

To keep comments to a minimum, please don’t reply with thanks, probably best that the replies are there for example if the answer is wrong?
or c/d is incorrect etc?

Tip – click on the first letter in the tag cloud to check if your comp has already been posted

Tip 8
The A to Z Competitions – you will see to the right in the sidebar – there is a box/circle called a tag cloud.
In here will be the most posted too sections, and obviously we are trying to have all the A’s, all the B’s etc, so if you are looking for a specific site, ie argos, you would look under the A tag… and so on and so forth…
I think that pretty much is it, if anyone else has any TIPs, then please post it – and put in the tag box TIPS

Tip 7
On this page (the front page) you will see the latest competitions, ie – the latest 50 competitions that have been added… so you can always enter the latest competitions when they become available!

Tip 6
If you are seeing people’s replies (or threads) you can click the label which states Hide Threads, this will hide the replies that people have posted…
we will inevitably see people replying, it’s in their nature!

Tip 5
IF you are logged in, and somebody else adds a competition – you don’t need to refresh the page, the competition will automatically show up on your screen – of course – you need to be running the latest browsers to see this, and of course – everything looks better in Firefox..!
